A better copy of TDIH from '68 at the Carousel Ballroom has just been posted. The highlight of this show is my favorite Spanish Jam of all time with amazing Garcia-Weir interplay. It features a lot of first-known performances of China Cat, The Eleven, Born Cross-Eyed, and Spanish Jam as the band gets ready to take this material on the road for their fantastic tour of the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy!

How is this version different, or better? Great show -- long a favorite. Thanks.

I'm sorta heart felt by this one >

and the one on 5/13/83 because of the Bucket.

Funniest part about Parkwest for me was how pissed off Healy got as I taped my mics on the poles to the soundboard's ez up.

I thought I noticed less of that annoying buzzing but I may just have tricked myself into believing it.

Still a hissy muddy mess!

And though the Spanish Jam is not as cohesive as the subsequent January performances, this is pretty fucking cool nonetheless!

Notable show for being the first ever at the Carousel/Fillmore West. Thankfully by the next show there on 2/14/68 they finally got rid of that Hoover Vacuum Cleaner sounding buzz in the PA system that spoils the recording much of the time. If you don't know what I'm referring to select track 2. The Spanish Jam is great.
